Dad May I Have Some Ice Cream?

I was in a coaching session today and I shared this universe teaching moment that was so wonderfully given to me. So here we go and I hope it blesses you like it blessed me.

Here is the Story

Dad May I have some Ice Cream – By The Universe

I was sitting in my living room with my son and we were watching T.V. After the end of the Backyardagains ,I believe it was, he asked me , without breaking his interactive and loving gaze with the television, ” Dad can I have some ice cream?” “Sure buddy.” I said without a moments hesitation. Besides it was our time together and he was going to have whatever treat he wanted! ( A little Dad ego peaking out its head. )

So I stood up to go get it and before I could take step number two he asked ” Can I have some apple juice?” To which i said “Sure would you like apple juice or ice cream?” “Apple juice!” he said an irritated tone of voice. “No Problem. But change your attitude.” I replied.

As I was taking step three I heard in an even more frustrated voice “Actually could I have some apple sauce?”

Now if you have any children in your life I am sure that you have had this experience.
Here is the amazing part. Right then that voice from within said to me and I quote “YOU DO THAT! You ask for something and instead of waiting and knowing that it is coming you change your request as I am on the way to get it. You get mad when it doesn’t come as quickly as you think it should and you ask for something different. So I never get a chance to bring your desires to you because you keep changing the request. Ask for what you want. Know that I am going to get it for you. And BE PATIENT.”

Pretty Amazing HUH. Hope this helps you! It changed my life
